JUST SOLD
PARADISE BEACH GRILLE + BUILDING
Capitola, CA

In 1998 Gary and Leslie Wetsel purchased the building at 215 Esplanade on the waterfront in Capitola. After five months of extensive renovations, they opened the Paradise Beach Grille.

From day one, they have not wavered from their original concept of providing quality service and food in a fun environment for their customers, employees, and owners. Paradise has become a popular meeting place for local patrons as well as a favorite restaurant for tourists. They also have many regular patrons from over the hill in the Bay Area and have been voted the Best Restaurant in Santa Cruz County for five years and in Capitola for seven years.

Paradise maximizes the beautiful beach location on Monterey Bay with an outdoor patio, views of the historic Venetian condominiums, and the ocean. This combination is reminiscent of a Portofino environment in Italy. They also feature an outdoor fireplace perfect for that cozy dinner or wine tasting.

Their menu features a wide variety of attractive salads and appetizers, fresh seafood and Black Angus Beef from Braveheart. Paradise features an extensive wine list of California wines including over 10 local wineries and over 35 wines by the glass and a full-service bar.

Steve Zimmerman, the Principal Broker of RRC, recently sold the building and business to Charles Maier, a successful restaurateur in the area who currently owns the Crow’s Nest and Santa Cruz Diner, both in Santa Cruz. We wish Gary and Leslie much happiness in their retirement and wish Charles continued success in his restaurant career.
