Bridges Restaurant and Bar
Danville

Patrick Totah of Restaurant Realty Company, who represented both the seller and buyer, is proud to announce the sale of Bridges Restaurant, which gained widespread recognition as one of the filming locations for the iconic movie Mrs. Doubtfire.

Nestled in the heart of Danville, California, Bridges Restaurant is a beloved dining destination renowned for its contemporary American cuisine. The menu focuses on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, expertly blending classic flavors with modern culinary techniques. The sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere adds to the restaurant’s charm, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Bridges gained widespread recognition as one of the filming locations for the iconic movie Mrs. Doubtfire. One of the film’s most memorable scenes was shot at Bridges, where characters Miranda Hillard (played by Sally Field), Stu Dunmeyer (Pierce Brosnan), and Mrs. Doubtfire (Robin Williams) shared a meal at a round table. This cinematic connection has become an enduring part of the restaurant’s identity, drawing fans from all over.

For years, Bridges was owned and meticulously managed by Randy Negi, a seasoned veteran of the restaurant industry. Randy, who also owns other popular concepts like Danville Brewery, Café Venue, Cenote, and Local Roots with multiple locations in San Francisco, took over Bridges in 2004. Under his leadership, Bridges maintained its high standards, consistently delivering fresh and innovative dishes while preserving the restaurant’s core identity. His hands-on management style was instrumental in solidifying Bridges’ reputation as one of the premier dining spots in the East Bay.

Recently, Bridges embarked on a new chapter under the ownership of Eduardo Suntay and Maria Catherine Robles. Eduardo and Maria, current owners of Kansai Sushi in Hayward and seasoned entrepreneurs, bring fresh energy and excitement to the restaurant. They have committed to preserving the restaurant’s legacy while introducing enhancements such as updates to the menu and increased live entertainment. Their approach aims to build upon the success cultivated by Randy, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption.

It has been a privilege to work with both the buyer and seller during this transaction. Their professionalism and open communication made the process smooth and rewarding.

As Bridges moves forward, I extend my best wishes to Randy on his future endeavors and to Eduardo and Maria as they continue to elevate this iconic restaurant
