Three (3) Jimboy’s Tacos franchiess
Downtown Sacramento, Yuba City and Folsom
Tamas Torok of Restaurant Realty Company, recently represented the sellers and buyers, proudly sold Jimboy’s Tacos in Sacramento Downtown Commons, Yuba City and Folsom.

Jimboy’s Tacos started in a small trailer in Lake Tahoe and was founded by Jim “Jimboy” Knudson in 1954 with his recipe of the original ground beef taco dusted with parmesan cheese. After a few years, traffic began to pick up, fueled in large part by positive word to mouth from locals and celebrities, including members of the famous “Rat Pack” and stars from “Bonanza” who were performing nearby.
Jimboy’s Tacos built a large and loyal following of fans because of their commitment to preparing food fresh and made to order. In 1969, Knudson’s pioneering spirit kicked in again. At a time when franchising was rare in the restaurant business models, Knudson franchised Jimboy’s Tacos in the Sacramento area. Jimboy’s Tacos has since grown to over 40 locations throughout California and Nevada.
Restaurant Realty Company agent Tamas Torok recently represented the sellers and buyers in selling the Jimboy’s Tacos in Sacramento Downtown Commons and the Jimboy’s Tacos in Yuba City.
The Sacramento location is next to the Golden One Center, the home of the Kings Basketball franchise. Gary Perez, the seller, sold as he is downsizing his restaurant operations and the buyer is Jose Cortez who is a partner in the fast-growing local Mexican concept, Taqueria El Burrito. The new restaurant features quick, fresh Mexican food and Jose is planning to add beer and wine.
The seller of Jimboy’s Tacos in Yuba City was Ruben Gonzales, a long time Jimboy’s owner. Ruben is also downsizing and will focus on his Marysville location.
After Tamas sold Ruben’s Folsom Jimboy’s Tacos location, he chose Restaurant Realty Company again, to sell the drive thru Jimboy’s in Yuba City. The new owners are Gurmit Singh and his wife Jasminder Thind who are first time Jimboy’s franchisees, and they are excited to start their new adventure. They are coming from a family with experience, owning Burger King Restaurants.
RRC and Tamas appreciate the opportunity of working with Gary Perez, Jose Cortez, Ruben Gonzales, Gurmit Singh and Jasminder Thind and we wish them best wishes for continued success in all of their future endeavors
