We wish Gary and Karen Hendrickson, who recently sold the Cowgirl Café, future success as they pursue the next chapter in their lives.
After 20+ years Gary and Karen were ready to retire from the restaurant business and decided to sell the Cowgirl Cafe. A seasoned restaurateur Santos Aviles who is the owner of the Spirit of Texas BBQ in San Bernardino, was the successful bidder. He was interested in eventually purchasing and owning the real estate for his next restaurant location and Gary and Karen were looking to sell their entire property which allowed all of them to achieve their goals. Unfortunately for the citizens of Norco, the Cowgirl Café will no longer remain open, however Santos will be bringing his unique and successful restaurant concept to the community, which we believe will be very well received.
The history of the Cowgirl Café goes back to Karen and Gary’s purchase of the restaurant in the early 2000’s. They subsequently purchased the real estate (land and building) for the Cowgirl Café in 2019 before selling the entire property in August of 2024. Gary and Karen made the Cowgirl Café a staple of the local Norco community where they served hearty breakfast & lunch meals to their grateful clientele. They also hosted the Rotary Club and Kiwanis Club in their community room.
The sale of the Cowgirl Café was bittersweet for Gary and Karen as they will truly miss seeing so many wonderful people every day at the Cowgirl Café, even though they are ready to see what the future will bring.
